Write your reps:
Generally speaking, our representatives receive far fewer contacts from constituents than you might think. And because of the extra initiative it takes to write them, many representatives take these correspondents very seriously.
We strongly encourage you to contact your representative regularly about the issues that are most important to you. And don’t hesitate to call them, email them or even visit them in person.
Letter to the Editor:
Here are some tips to get published:
•Be concise. Your letter must be 200 words or less.
•Write in your own words.
•Target your letters to local or regional papers.
•Be polite.
•A signature is not required, but you must include your real name, address (street address, not e-mail address) and daytime telephone number. The newspaper staff will call and verify that you are the author.
